An internal combustion engine depends on the air and fuel mixture that is supplied by the air intake system of a vehicle. The air is sucked from the atmosphere into the engine through the intake manifold and the piston compresses the air and fuel mixture. This mixture is ignited by the spark plugs to generate power. The air intake system is very crucial for the proper functioning of the engine as it is responsible for directing air into the cylinders. It consists of the air filter which filters pollen, dust, dirt, and other fine particles from the air and allows clean air into the engine.
